Frozen Shoulder Manipulation Under Anaesthestic

Manipulation Under Anaesthesia (MUA) has been utilised as a surgical option for continued loss of joint range of movement and pain following Adhesive Capsulitis or Frozen Shoulder.

This involves a general anaesthetic and the consultant breaking down the scar tissue that is limiting the joint range by taking the shoulder through its full movement. Early movement/exercise post surgery is vital to minimise the risk of further adhesions forming. East Cliff’s experienced Physiotherapists are experts in post op care and rehabilitation, working with surgical consultants to ensure that the requested rehabilitation treatments are implemented. Exercises at this stage include range of movement and stretching of the joint.
